In the conversation about women in comics, people tend bring up (with various degrees of sincerity or snark) the question of “why don’t more women pitch to Company X?” And then just a month or so ago, I saw a link going around excitedly informing all and sundry that Image Comics has open submissions— a fact I had assumed was widely known. Apparently not.
